Mechalight Prototype 2

PROTOTYPE 2 – RETROGRADE

My fourth watch project, completed on the third year of school, to continue the dynamo watch line.

with this model I went back towards traditional shape when it comes to wristwatches, but still did not want to completely conform to the norm. I also wanted to try out my skills in micromechanical construction and decided to build a retrograde display module ontop of the so popular ETA 2892 automatic movement, and also wanted to incorporate the dynamo powered light to it. on this watch I also wanted to come up with a way to store the energy from the dynamo, so I included 4 small rechargeable batteries to hold the electricity. with the dynamo assembly I chose to rely on pre-made parts, but that turned out to produce multiple problems.

Movement; ETA 2892A2 automatic with a self-made retrograde module.
case width; 49 mm, (60 from lug to lug)
